The 2nd Shanghai Jiao Tong University Teaching Innovation Competition was officially launched in November 2021 and successfully concluded recently. Zhao Ling won the third prize in the professor category, Li Jinhua won the third prize in the associate professor category and Li Peng won the second prize in the assistant professor category.

The competition was jointly organised by the Office of Academic Affairs, the Centre for Teaching and Learning Development, the Faculyt and Staff Union and the Human Resources Office. The content of the competition includes video recording of classroom teaching, report on teaching innovation and report on teaching design innovation. The competition was divided into two stages: the first stage was the online evaluation, which included the video of classroom teaching and the report of teaching innovation results, and the second stage was the on-site evaluation, which included the report of teaching design innovation. In the end, awards will be given based on the total results of the online and on-site judging.

SESE attached great importance to this teaching innovation competition and relied on the School's Teaching Development Sub-centre to actively plan and prepare for the competition. In addition to organising a special teaching development event on "Curriculum Teaching Innovation and Teaching Design", experts were invited to share their experience and practices in teaching innovation, and detailed explanations and tutorials were given to the participating teachers on the preparation of materials.
